After you have enrolled for the course, In addition fill in the form with information on your musical background. In the form, you are also asked to provide a music sample, which we recommend providing but it is not mandatory. The form is available here.

When applying, you will be asked to pay the advance fee, which is 50% of the course price, 175€. The application becomes valid when the payment has been received. The remaining part of the fee will be charged via en e-mail invoice after the cancellation date has passed. The cancellation date is 15.5.2024. If the applicant isn’t accepted, the advance fee will be returned in full. A selection among applicants will be performed if there are more applicants than available seats in the master class.

The master class is open for application 1.3.-15.5.2024. The final cancellation date is 15.5.2024, after which the advance fee (175€) will not be returned, and the requirement to pay the full fee (350€) remains valid. In case of cancellation of participation after 15.5. the fee is payable in full, except in case of illness (to be verified by a medical certificate). An invoice will be sent to those who got in from the waiting list immediately after possible acceptance.

The Korsholm Music Festival arranges the master classes in cooperation with the Vaasa Summer University and the Kuula-opisto Music Institute in the summer 2024. The classical music master class is aimed at music students in Finland and abroad. The master class will include tuition in piano, violin, flute, cello, and voice. The tuition takes place in the Kuula-opisto Music Institute, which offers quality class rooms, both for master class tuition and rehearsing. The two main concerts of the master class will be integrated with the Korsholm Music Festival programme and held in the Vaasa City Hall. In addition, smaller matinée concerts will be held at the music institute concert hall.

Schedule and programme

Lessons 4x45min 23.–28.7.2024.
The Music Festival will take place from July 24 to July 31, 2024, and its program will be released in early spring.


Location

Vaasa, Kuula-opisto Music Institute (Laivakatu 16, Vaasa)

Target group

The master class is primarily intended for professional students in Finland and abroad, as well as music institute students from the region. There are 30 seats available for active participants. The doors are also open for passive participants, which means that anyone interested, for example music institute teachers, students, relatives to the participants and others, may follow the tutition in classes.

  • Participation fee

  • The participation fee for the master class is 350 €, which includes 4x45min one to one tuition. 
  • Additional lessons may be reserved for a fee of 70 € per 45min. 
  • The fee includes lunch for the duration of the course, as well as a festival pass for the Korsholm Music Festival.
  •  Accomodation is not included in the fee
